Project overview

Tecvisio.AI delivered an enterprise integration solution connecting Salesforce CRM with Oracle NetSuite using MuleSoft, enabling bidirectional data synchronisation between the two platforms. Salesforce ran customer relationships and sales, NetSuite ran ERP and finance, and MuleSoft became the integration layer coordinating the exchange of business data.

The goal was one unified flow of information across customer relationship management, account operations, invoicing and finance, removing fragmented data handling, reducing manual updates and keeping customer-facing and financial operations consistent.

The challenge

  • Disconnected systems: customer and account information lived on separate platforms.
  • Manual data updates: teams updated or checked information in both systems by hand.
  • Inconsistent customer data: differences between records affected sales, billing and finance workflows.
  • Invoice visibility: sales and finance teams needed consistent access to invoice information.
  • Financial data coordination: transaction and financial data had to flow reliably between CRM and ERP.
  • Limited end-to-end visibility: no unified view of customer accounts, sales activity and financial status.
  • Integration scalability: the architecture had to support more systems and workflows in future.

The solution

Tecvisio.AI designed and implemented a MuleSoft integration layer that connects Salesforce and NetSuite through controlled, bidirectional data exchange. Instead of isolated point-to-point connections, MuleSoft provides one central architecture that orchestrates communication, data transformation and system interactions.

Bidirectional customer and account synchronisation

  • Customer and account records created and updated in both systems.
  • Field mapping between the two platforms.
  • Consistent key customer attributes.
  • Managed record identifiers and relationships.
  • Validation of incoming data before processing.

Invoice data integration

  • Invoice information synchronised between platforms.
  • Customer-to-invoice relationship mapping.
  • Invoice references, transaction details and status updates.
  • Financial documents visible in the platform each team uses.

Financial data synchronisation

Depending on the configured business rules, synchronised information can include customer financial references, invoice amounts and transaction details, payment and outstanding status, currency attributes, transaction references and account and billing information. NetSuite remains the system of record for designated financial transactions, while Salesforce shows customer-facing teams the agreed information they need.

Data transformation and mapping

  • Field-level mapping and transformation between platform formats.
  • Mandatory field validation.
  • Customer and account identifier mapping.
  • Business rule enforcement.
  • Data validation and exception handling.

Integration monitoring and error management

  • API-based system communication.
  • Transaction and processing monitoring.
  • Error handling and exception management.
  • Logging and troubleshooting support.
  • Retry handling where appropriate.

How the integration works

Salesforce ↔ MuleSoft ↔ Oracle NetSuite

  1. Business event: a customer, account, invoice or agreed financial record is created or updated in either system.
  2. Integration trigger: MuleSoft receives the event or retrieves the update.
  3. Data validation: the data is checked against defined business rules.
  4. Data transformation: MuleSoft maps it into the target system's structure.
  5. System synchronisation: validated data is written to the other platform.
  6. Response and monitoring: responses, failures and outcomes are managed in the integration layer.

Source-of-truth rules and sync direction are defined by the business process for each data object.

The impact

  • Less manual data entry and fewer duplicate updates.
  • Consistent customer and account information.
  • Invoice information visible to sales teams.
  • Better coordination between sales, billing and finance.
  • More structured financial data exchange.
  • Less dependence on disconnected processes.
  • A scalable integration foundation for future enterprise applications.

The outcome

Through MuleSoft, Tecvisio.AI connected Salesforce and NetSuite into one enterprise data ecosystem. Customer, account, invoice and agreed financial information now moves between the platforms through a structured integration architecture, giving the organisation continuous data between CRM and finance and far fewer manual handoffs.

“Connecting Salesforce and NetSuite was an important step towards improving data consistency across our business. Tecvisio helped establish a structured integration between our CRM and ERP environments, bringing customer, account and financial information into a more connected workflow.”
